This appointment is effective from July 31, 2026, and is subject to shareholder approval. Mr. Ayypankav brings over three decades of experience in the financial services sector, with a strong background in banking, capital markets, and asset management from his tenure at Kotak Mahindra Group.

UTI Asset Management Company Limited has officially announced the appointment of Mr. Narayan Subramaniam Ayypankav as an Additional Director to its Board. This significant governance update, effective from July 31, 2026, places Mr. Ayypankav in the Non-Executive Independent Category. The appointment, which is not liable to retire by rotation, will be presented for formal approval by the company’s shareholders.

Extensive Financial Services Background

Mr. Ayypankav joins the board with an impressive track record spanning over three decades in the financial services industry. His career is deeply rooted in the Kotak Mahindra Group, where he held various senior leadership positions. His expertise encompasses diverse areas including banking, capital markets, broking, treasury operations, commercial lending, and asset management. He was a key member of the Group Management Council, instrumental in shaping strategy and growth for the Bank and its subsidiaries.

Leadership Roles and Strategic Contributions

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Ayypankav has occupied senior leadership and Board roles within several Kotak Group entities. Notably, he served as Managing Director & CEO of Kotak Securities, successfully building and leading its retail broking business to a market-leading position in equities and online trading. He also played a pivotal role in establishing the foundational business architecture for Kotak Securities as Executive Director & COO. Earlier, as Group President – Commercial Banking, he oversaw significant SME advances, commercial vehicles, and microfinance initiatives, and he led strategic investments and acquisitions, including the expansion of Kotak’s microfinance presence.

Post-Retirement Advisory Role

Even after his retirement from Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mr. Ayypankav continued to serve as an Advisor until May 2024, providing valuable strategic support to the Bank’s leadership. His extensive experience in operating depth, distribution networks, and corporate governance within regulated financial services businesses is expected to be a significant asset to UTI Asset Management Company Limited.

Statutory Disclosures

The company has confirmed that all necessary statutory disclosures from Mr. Narayan Subramaniam Ayypankav have been received. He is not related to any other Director of the Company and is not debarred from holding the office of Director by any order from SEBI or any other authority.
