Key Business Segment Highlights

Plywood Business

The plywood segment continues to strengthen through capacity expansion and focused brand-building. The new greenfield plywood plant at Hoshiarpur is slated for operations in Q3 FY27. Additionally, the Chennai brownfield expansion has increased capacity, with further growth anticipated by Q3 FY27. A successful ‘Prime Ply Day’ event and a strategic 7% price increase in April helped pass on raw material cost increases and bolster revenue by 32.4% year-on-year.

Laminate Business

The laminate business maintained strong momentum, with revenue growing by 14.7% year-on-year. EBITDA margins remained healthy at 10.2%, attributed to improved product mix, better capacity utilization, and operational efficiencies. The launch of the ‘CenturyLaminates LookBook, The Trendz Edit 2026-27’ collection received encouraging responses.

MDF and Particle Board Business

The MDF business reported healthy year-on-year performance, with revenue growing by nearly 29% despite a planned shutdown for expansion at the Andhra Pradesh facility. Capacity at this plant was increased from 700 CBM to 950 CBM per day. The particle board business saw significant growth, with revenue increasing by 29% sequentially and 155.7% year-on-year, driven by higher capacity utilization and product acceptance.

Logistics Business

The logistics business, operated by a subsidiary, strengthened during the quarter. Operations at the Khidderpore Docks terminal have stabilized and are contributing positively, with improving cargo handling volumes and customer acceptance. This segment provides revenue diversification and enhances supply chain capabilities.

Financial Overview and Future Outlook

From a financial perspective, the quarter showed improved profitability and disciplined growth, with ROE improving to 13.5% and ROCE to 14.4%. The company is focusing on driving higher utilization and improving asset productivity, aiming for sustainable returns rather than aggressive capital expenditure. With most capacity additions now operational, Century Plyboards is poised to leverage its assets for enhanced profitability and shareholder value.

Brand Initiatives and Consumer Focus

Brand building and product innovation remain key strategies. The company launched the ‘Century HDF Premium Plus’ campaign featuring Rahul Dravid and Saurabh Shukla. A significant initiative was the launch of India’s first Total Cover Assurance Program for Club Prime Plywood, offering compensation for defective plywood and related furniture costs within 10 years. This initiative underscores the company’s confidence in its product quality and commitment to customer trust.
