Bank of Baroda: Approves Raising Up to ₹6,000 Crore Via Bonds

Bank of Baroda’s Capital Raising Committee has approved the raising of additional capital up to ₹6,000 crore. This capital will be raised through Additional Tier 1 (AT1) and/or Tier II bonds. The approval follows the Board of Directors’ earlier decision and allows for issuance in suitable tranches until March 31, 2027, and potentially beyond.

Capital Raising Committee Approves Significant Funding

Bank of Baroda announced today, August 7, 2026, that its Capital Raising Committee has sanctioned the raising of additional capital. The committee has approved a plan to raise funds amounting to up to ₹6,000 crore.

Bond Issuance for Capital Augmentation

The approved capital will be raised through the issuance of Additional Tier 1 (AT1) and/or Tier II bonds. This decision aligns with the approval originally granted by the Board of Directors during their meeting on May 8, 2026. The bank intends to issue these bonds in suitable tranches, with a target completion date of March 31, 2027. The issuance may extend beyond this date if deemed expedient.
