Neogen Chemicals Limited has received a significant update regarding its Multi-Purpose Plant (MPP3) facility at Dahej SEZ. The Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) has issued a Revocation of Direction order, lifting previous restrictions following a fire incident. GPCB Revokes Direction, Grants Provisional Consent for Dahej Plant

Neogen Chemicals Limited announced on November 8, 2026, that it has received a crucial Revocation of Direction order from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), Bharuch, Gujarat. This order, dated November 7, 2026, revokes a previous direction issued by GPCB concerning the fire incident at its Multi-Purpose Plant (MPP3) facility, warehouse, and tank farms located at Dahej SEZ on March 5, 2025.

Operational Continuity and New Consent

Furthermore, GPCB has granted Neogen Chemicals a provisional consent order for setting up industrial activities at the Dahej SEZ. This consent is effective from November 7, 2026, and will remain valid until March 19, 2030. This “CC&A amendment” allows for the manufacturing of items and products as detailed in the order, paving the way for continued operational focus at the affected site following the incident and subsequent compliance measures.

Incident Background and Compliance

The fire incident, which occurred on March 5, 2025, led to temporary suspension of operations by GPCB. The company has since been engaged in compliance with instructions from various authorities, including the Department of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH). The GPCB’s revocation order comes after an inspection and confirmation of compliances, including an undertaking dated September 1, 2026, and adherence to CC&A conditions.

Impact and Future Operations

While the affected plant’s original location remains an open land, Neogen Chemicals has installed a new replacement MPP-5 plant, which is currently in trial production. The company has also applied for a CC&A amendment for this new plant. The provisional consent received now facilitates activities related to the overall site and future operational plans under revised conditions.
