Welspun Corp Limited, in collaboration with Perma-Pipe International Holdings, Inc. (“Perma-Pipe”), has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This agreement is set to establish integrated pipe manufacturing and advanced coating facilities in Jordan. The partnership is designed to support significant water, oil & gas, and infrastructure projects within Jordan and across the broader Levant region.
Joint Venture for Advanced Facilities
The parties intend to form a joint venture to develop and operate these new facilities. This initiative represents a strategic move to create a localized manufacturing hub, enhancing regional supply chains and fostering skilled technical capabilities in Jordan. The platform will be capable of serving major infrastructure programs, with potential to expand support to Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Gaza in the future.
Leveraging Complementary Expertise
The collaboration aims to combine Welspun’s extensive experience in manufacturing large-diameter steel pipes with Perma-Pipe’s specialized knowledge in anti-corrosion coating systems, engineered piping solutions, and project execution. This synergy is expected to create a differentiated offering and build stronger customer relationships.
Supporting Key Infrastructure Projects
A primary focus for these new facilities will be to support Jordan’s National Water Carrier Project (NCP), a significant initiative to enhance long-term water security by transporting desalinated water. Beyond the NCP, the venture is positioned to cater to future water, energy, and infrastructure development needs in the region, leveraging Jordan’s strategic geographic location.
