TVS Motor Expands Global EV Footprint with Kenya Launch
TVS Motor Company, a prominent player in the two and three-wheeler manufacturing sector, today announced the launch of its premium electric scooter, the TVS iQube, in Kenya. This marks a significant milestone as it signifies TVS Motor’s first foray into the African market, underscoring its commitment to accelerating global EV expansion.
TVS iQube: Key Features and Market Positioning
Engineered with a focus on performance, comfort, and sustainability, the TVS iQube is set to redefine urban mobility in Kenya. The scooter boasts cutting-edge EV technology, a robust build quality, and zero tailpipe emissions. It is powered by a 4.6 kW hub-mounted motor, capable of reaching a top speed of 82 km/h and accelerating from 0-40 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. The TVS iQube will be available in two variants: the TVS iQube 3.5 with a range of 115 kms and the TVS iQube 2.2 with a range of 75 kms on a full charge.
The iQube features an advanced 5-inch digital cluster and a suite of intelligent Bluetooth- and cloud-enabled connected features, including Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Geofencing, and Ride and Charging statistics. The launch in Kenya is supported by an extensive after-sales network, leveraging the trusted presence of Car & General, a partner with over two decades of experience in the region.
Strategic Expansion into Africa

Environmental and Economic Impact
The press release also emphasized the collective environmental impact of TVS iQube users globally, noting that customers have collectively ridden over 17.8 billion kilometres, helping avoid 623,595 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This equates to planting nearly 25 million trees, showcasing the tangible impact of electric mobility on global sustainability targets.
