Titagarh Naval Systems Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, has successfully launched the fourth Diving Support Craft (DSC A23 – YARD 328) for the Indian Navy. The vessel was launched on April 19, 2026, into the Hooghly River. Designed as a specialized 30-metre catamaran, the craft serves as part of an ongoing five-vessel order to bolster the Navy’s underwater operations and diving training capabilities under the Make in India initiative.
Advancing Naval Capabilities
The launch of the fourth Diving Support Craft marks a significant milestone in Titagarh’s shipbuilding journey. These catamaran-type vessels are equipped with advanced, indigenously sourced systems specifically engineered to support the Indian Navy’s Command Clearance Diving Teams (CCDTs). They play a vital role in executing underwater inspection, repair, maintenance, and salvage activities within harbour and near-shore environments.
Strategic Shipbuilding Growth
Following a strategic restructuring, Titagarh Naval Systems Limited has emerged as the dedicated arm for maritime growth. The company is currently developing a state-of-the-art shipyard at Falta, West Bengal, spread across approximately 50 acres. This new facility is designed to handle ships up to 180 meters in length and boasts an annual capacity of 12-16 vessels. With an order book exceeding ₹500 crore, the company continues to leverage its technical expertise to drive self-reliance in the maritime sector.
