Suzlon Energy Limited announced the appointment of Mr. Ashok Ramachandran as the new President – India Business. This strategic appointment is effective from June 4, 2026. Mr. Ramachandran will be a Senior Managerial Personnel (SMP) of the Company and will report directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer. This move underscores Suzlon’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team as it navigates the evolving landscape of the renewable energy sector.

A Career of Global Expertise

Ashok Ramachandran brings a wealth of experience, spanning over two decades of global leadership across the energy, industrial products, and vertical mobility sectors. His expertise extends across India, Southeast Asia, and Australia. He is recognized for his ability to drive execution-led transformation at scale within complex, high-growth industries. Previously, as Chief Operating Officer and board member at JSW, he was instrumental in shaping the company’s long-term growth strategy, significantly accelerating its capacity from nearly 5 GW to 30 GW in approximately 3 years.

Previous Roles and Achievements

Prior to his role at JSW, Mr. Ramachandran spent a significant portion of his career with the Schindler Group. As the CEO & President for Schindler India & South Asia, he successfully led the company’s major markets in Manufacturing, Operations, and R&D. During his tenure, he delivered robust operational performance and achieved a notable three-fold increase in revenues, scaling from ₹1,000 Crores to ₹3,000 Crores.

The appointment comes at a critical juncture for Suzlon as it focuses on becoming a wind-first, full-stack renewable energy company.
