Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited has released its consolidated sales performance for April 2026, showcasing mixed results across its diverse product portfolio. The company witnessed notable volume growth in segments like Pellets and Aluminium Foil, while navigating market adjustments in carbon steel and speciality alloys. This performance reflects the company’s strategic focus on integrating production capabilities, including the recent commercial launch of its HR Tube/Pipe manufacturing unit.

Segment Performance Overview

The company reported varied sales volumes and realizations for the month of April. Pellet production continues to be a strong pillar, with sales volumes rising by 18.59% YoY to 1,23,507 MT. Similarly, the Aluminium Foil segment saw a positive trend, recording a 19.63% YoY increase in volume. The Stainless Steel division also performed well, achieving 7,928 MT in sales, an increase of 10.89% compared to the same period last year.

Strategic Developments and Infrastructure

Shyam Metalics has expanded its operational footprint with the successful implementation of its 7.7 lac tonnes per annum blast furnace at the Jamuria facility. Furthermore, the company has diversified its product offering with the launch of HR Tube/Pipe manufacturing. Commercial sales for this unit commenced on April 25, 2026, marking a strategic move to repurpose side-slitted HR coils into rectangular and square hollow section pipes.

Market Trends in Key Segments

While some segments showed significant growth, the company noted specific market fluctuations in other areas. The Pig Iron segment experienced a robust volume growth of 122.86% YoY, driven by consistent production. In contrast, Sponge Iron volumes saw a decrease of 29.33% YoY. The company remains focused on maintaining its competitive edge as a multi-metal conglomerate with one of the lowest leverage ratios in the Indian steel industry.

The company reinforced its commitment to high-performance infrastructure through its SEL Tiger Roofing Sheets brand. The premium product range includes four distinct categories: SEL TIGER Royale (Ultra-Premium Color Coated), SEL TIGER ELITE (Premium Color Coated), SEL TIGER AZURE (Galvalume Wider), and SEL TIGER ALFA (Galvalume Narrow), aimed at delivering specialized solutions for the construction sector.
