REC Limited Incorporation of Three New Power Transmission Subsidiaries

REC Limited has announced the successful incorporation of three new wholly-owned subsidiaries under its power development arm, RECPDCL. These entities were established to facilitate critical inter-state power transmission projects across India. Each subsidiary, with an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000, will focus on specialized transmission infrastructure to support the evacuation of power from renewable energy projects in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Strategic Subsidiary Expansion

REC Limited, through its subsidiary REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), has finalized the incorporation of three specialized power transmission companies. These companies will serve as vehicles for executing major inter-state transmission projects as mandated by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

The Newly Formed Entities

The three subsidiaries, all incorporated with an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000 each, are designed to oversee distinct transmission segments:

  • Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited: Focused on the Augmentation of power systems at Bhadla-III, Ramgarh PS, and Kanpur.
  • Lakadia II Power Transmission Limited: Tasked with the integration of power from Renewable Energy (RE) projects in the Lakadia REZ, Gujarat (Phase II, 7,500 MW).
  • Jam Khambhaliya Jamnagar Power Transmission Limited: Dedicated to a common transmission system for power evacuation from Lakadia, Jam Khambhaliya, and Jamnagar projects.

Project Execution and Future Transfer

These entities operate under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework. RECPDCL acts as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) to select successful developers for these transmission assets. Once the bidding process is complete, these companies will be transferred to the successful bidders, including all respective assets and liabilities, ensuring the efficient development of India’s power grid infrastructure.
