NTPC Green Energy Limited has announced that a 150 MW portion of a 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan has officially commenced commercial operations. This milestone, achieved through a step-down subsidiary of its joint venture, bolsters the company’s total installed capacity. Following this addition, the company’s total operational capacity has reached 10,276.40 MW, reflecting its ongoing commitment to expanding India’s renewable energy footprint.
Expansion of Solar Capacity
NTPC Green Energy Limited has successfully brought 150 MW of solar capacity into commercial operation. The project, located in the state of Rajasthan, is part of a larger 300 MW solar installation developed by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited, a step-down subsidiary of the joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited. The commercial operation date for this facility is effective from April 18, 2026.
Impact on Total Installed Capacity
This development is a significant step in the company’s strategic growth plan. Prior to this commissioning, the commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group stood at 10,126.40 MW. With the successful integration of this 150 MW plant, the total installed capacity of the Group has now increased to 10,276.40 MW.
