NTPC 150 MW Solar Project Commences Commercial Operations in Rajasthan

NTPC has announced the start of commercial operations for a 150 MW solar power project in Rajasthan. The facility, developed by a group company of NTPC Green Energy Limited, will be operational starting April 18, 2026. This addition contributes to the growing renewable footprint of the NTPC group, bringing its total installed capacity to 89,528 MW, with a commercial capacity now reaching 88,448 MW.

Expanding Renewable Energy Capacity

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has successfully commissioned 150 MW of solar capacity. This project represents half of the total 300 MW solar power plant located in Rajasthan. The facility, operated by Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited—a step-down subsidiary of the joint venture ONGE NTPC Green Private Limited—officially enters the commercial phase on April 18, 2026.

Impact on Group Performance

With this latest commissioning, the NTPC Green Energy Limited group’s total commercial capacity has increased to 10,126.40 MW, while its total installed capacity has risen to 10,276.40 MW. On a broader scale, these operational updates further strengthen the NTPC group’s energy portfolio, which now stands at a total installed capacity of 89,528 MW, reinforcing the company’s commitment to scaling its renewable energy infrastructure across the country.
