Niva Bupa Health Insurance: Approves Q1 FY27 Unaudited Results, Plans ₹500 Cr Debenture Raise

Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited announced the approval of its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The Board also greenlit a fund-raising initiative through the issuance of listed, rated, unsecured, subordinated, redeemable, non-convertible debentures up to ₹500 crore. A dedicated Debt Raising Committee has been formed to finalize the terms of this issuance.

Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited convened its Board of Directors meeting on July 30, 2026, during which several key decisions were made. The Board reviewed and approved the unaudited financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2026. These results, along with a limited review report from the Joint Statutory Auditors, have been submitted as required by regulatory norms.

Significant Fundraising Initiative

In a move to bolster its financial resources, the Board has approved a plan to raise funds via the issuance of non-convertible debentures. The fundraising will be conducted through a private placement, with the total amount not exceeding ₹500 crore. These debentures will be listed, rated, unsecured, subordinated, and redeemable, in compliance with applicable laws.

To manage this process efficiently, a subcommittee named the Debt Raising Committee (‘DRC’) has been constituted. This committee will be responsible for determining and finalizing all terms and conditions related to the issuance and allotment of these debentures.

Financial Performance Snapshot

The financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, show a Profit / (Loss) from continuing operations of ₹13,780 lakhs. This marks a notable increase compared to the previous year’s corresponding quarter, which reported a profit of ₹7,144 lakhs. Total revenue for the quarter stood at ₹2,47,175 lakhs.
