Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has received a significant order from the West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation Limited (WBTDCL). The contract, dated 24 August 2026, is for the procurement of two (02) 100-passenger electric ferries.

Contract Details

The total contract price for these electric ferries is ₹45.02 crore. The order is classified as being awarded by a domestic entity. The nature of the contract is the procurement of electric ferries, and the project is expected to be completed within 18 months from the date of signing the contract. This development highlights GRSE’s capability in manufacturing modern, eco-friendly vessels.

The company has confirmed that the order does not fall within related party transactions and is conducted at an ‘arm’s length’ basis. There is no interest from promoters, promoter groups, or group companies in the entity that awarded the order.
