Overall VECV Sales Performance
The total sales volume for Eicher Trucks and Buses, including Electric Vehicles (EVs), for May 2026 stood at 7,978 units. This represents a growth of 7.8% compared to the 7,401 units sold in May 2025. Year-to-date (YTD) figures also show a growth of 7.4%, with 15,296 units sold in the current fiscal year compared to 14,247 units during the same period last year.
Domestic Sales Analysis
Domestic sales within VECV demonstrated robust growth, increasing by 9.1% to reach 7,375 units in May 2026, up from 6,758 units in May 2025. Key segments contributing to this growth include:
- SCV/LMD Trucks (< 18.5T): Sales increased by a significant 16.1% to 3,757 units.
- HD Trucks (≥18.5T): Sales saw a growth of 7.9%, reaching 1,620 units.
- LMD Bus: Sales remained largely stable with a marginal growth of 0.1%, totaling 1,886 units.
- HD Bus: This segment experienced a decline of 17.6%, with sales at 112 units.
Year-to-date domestic sales also grew by 8.9%, totaling 14,172 units.
VECV Exports Decline
In contrast to domestic performance, VECV exports saw a decline of 17.2% in May 2026, with 414 units exported compared to 500 units in May 2025. The year-to-date export figures also reflect a decrease of 19.2%, with 776 units exported.
- SCV/LMD Exports: Decreased by 11.4% to 256 units.
- HD Exports: Showed a strong increase of 31.2% to 122 units.
- Bus Exports: Experienced a significant drop of 69.5%, with only 36 units exported.
Volvo Trucks & Buses Segment
The Volvo Trucks & Buses segment recorded a substantial growth of 32.2% in May 2026, selling 189 units compared to 143 units in May 2025. Year-to-date sales for this segment also increased by 27.9%.
The overall sales volume release is in compliance with the information being released to SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers).
