Royal Enfield, a leading manufacturer in the mid-size motorcycle segment, has officially launched the much-anticipated Himalayan 440. The new model is positioned as a revival of the iconic G.O.A.T. (Greatest Of All Terrain) motorcycle, enhanced to meet modern touring demands. The launch event took place at the inaugural Himalayan Basecamp in Ladakh on September 4, 2026.
Key Features and Upgrades
The Himalayan 440 boasts a new 443cc long-stroke engine coupled with a six-speed gearbox, promising improved all-round performance and more effortless touring. The motorcycle retains its rugged simplicity and dependability, designed to be a capable adventure tourer. Notable features include a half-duplex split-cradle frame, 41mm telescopic front forks, a linkage-type rear monoshock, and 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels.
The bike is built for both short rides and extended expeditions, featuring an upright riding position, an 800mm seat height for maneuverability, and a 15-litre fuel tank. For enhanced control, it is equipped with a 300mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Further conveniences include an LED headlamp, a digital-analogue instrument cluster, Tripper navigation, and USB Type-C charging.

The new Himalayan 440 will be available in three colour options: Sela Black, Mustang Brown, and Nelong White. The ex-showroom price is set at ₹2,29,000. Bookings commence on September 4, 2026, across authorised Royal Enfield dealerships in India and on the official Royal Enfield website. To commemorate the launch, initial units will feature an exclusive ten-year anniversary badge on the fuel tank.

Royal Enfield is also offering a comprehensive 7-year Extended Warranty along with Roadside Assistance for its motorcycles, enhancing customer confidence.
