Central Bank of India Appointment of New Chief Risk Officer

Central Bank of India has announced the appointment of Shri Raj Kokil Singh as the new Chief Risk Officer (CRO) of the Bank. Effective April 20, 2026, this leadership transition follows a change in portfolio for the previous incumbent, Dr. G. Bhaskar, who will now oversee Treasury operations. Shri Singh brings extensive experience in risk management, credit, and general banking to this pivotal role for a tenure of three years.

Leadership Transition

Central Bank of India has officially designated Shri Raj Kokil Singh as the Bank’s Chief Risk Officer. The appointment, which takes effect on April 20, 2026, marks a strategic leadership update for the institution. Shri Singh will serve in this capacity for a fixed tenure of three years, succeeding Dr. G. Bhaskar, who has transitioned to lead the bank’s Treasury portfolio.

Professional Background

Shri Raj Kokil Singh, aged 44, has been a part of the bank since 2012 and brings over 19 years of professional experience within the banking sector. He holds a Bachelors in Science and a Master’s in Business Administration. His technical credentials include being a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance (IIBF) and holding specialized certifications in Financial Risk Management (FRM) and Sustainability & Climate Risk (SCR) from GARP.

Experience and Expertise

Throughout his career, Shri Singh has gained significant exposure across various critical functions, including Risk Management, Credit, Treasury Mid office, ALM, and General Banking. Before this appointment, he served as the Deputy Zonal Head of the Kolkata Zone. He has also held professional roles at both Union Bank of India and Syndicate Bank, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the Indian banking landscape.
