Adani Power Limited has announced the incorporation of a new step-down subsidiary, Rawatbhata-Raj Atomic Energy Limited (RRAEL), on April 20, 2026. This new entity, established under the company’s subsidiary, Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL), marks a strategic move into the nuclear power sector. RRAEL will focus on the generation, transmission, and distribution of power derived from nuclear and atomic energy, strengthening the company’s commitment to clean energy infrastructure.
Strategic Expansion into Nuclear Energy
Adani Power Limited has officially entered the nuclear energy space through the incorporation of Rawatbhata-Raj Atomic Energy Limited (RRAEL). The new entity was formed on April 20, 2026, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Atomic Energy Limited (AAEL), which itself is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Power. This structural setup ensures that Adani Power maintains total control over its latest venture into the nuclear power market.
Business Objectives and Capital Structure
The primary mandate for RRAEL is to generate, transmit, and distribute energy derived from nuclear and atomic sources. This initiative aligns with the company’s long-term goal of diversifying its energy portfolio. The company was incorporated with an authorized capital of Rs. 5,00,000, divided into 50,000 equity shares of Rs. 10 each. All equity is held by AAEL, continuing the parent firm’s hierarchical control over its emerging project entities.
