Bharti Airtel: Q1 FY27 Revenue Grows 5.7% to ₹58,500 Crore

Bharti Airtel reported a strong performance for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27). Consolidated revenue reached ₹58,500 Crore, marking a sequential growth of 5.7%. Consolidated EBITDAal stood at ₹29,800 Crore with a margin of 51%. The company highlighted significant growth in its Africa operations and progress in new growth bets including financial services and data centers.

Bharti Airtel Reports Strong Q1 FY27 Performance

Bharti Airtel announced its financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), showcasing robust growth across its diverse portfolio. Consolidated revenue climbed to ₹58,500 Crore, a sequential increase of 5.7%. This performance was driven by strong contributions from its India and Africa businesses. Consolidated EBITDAal reached ₹29,800 Crore, with operating margins holding steady at 51%. The company also reported an operating free cash flow of over ₹16,450 Crore.

Africa Business Shows Significant Momentum

The Africa business continues to be a key growth engine for Airtel, demonstrating a constant revenue growth of 5.7% sequentially. During the quarter, Airtel increased its stake in the Africa business to over 79%. The annualized EBITDA from Africa operations now exceeds ₹35,000 Crore, contributing nearly half of the group’s consolidated revenue growth of 16% over the past year. The business has shown a consistent CAGR growth of over 20% in revenue and 24% in EBITDA over the last five years, supported by favorable demographics and increasing digital penetration.

Digital Bets and Expansion

Bharti Airtel is making strategic investments in new growth areas. The financial services portfolio, including Airtel Money and Airtel Payments Bank, continues to scale. Airtel Money achieved a Q1 revenue of over $400 million. The company is also preparing for a London listing for Airtel Money in the second half of 2026. In data centers, Airtel is working towards building one gigawatt capacity, with significant land acquisition and contract finalization underway. Airtel Cloud also saw strong momentum, adding 11 new customers, bringing the total to 33.

India Business Highlights

In the India business, the mobile segment added 3.3 million revenue-earning customers and 5 million smartphone data customers. Postpaid customer additions reached 1 million, the highest ever in a quarter, with the ARPU standing at ₹264. The Homes segment added 473,000 net subscribers. Airtel Business revenue grew 3.2% sequentially and nearly 12% year-on-year, driven by strong performance in its digital businesses, including cloud, cybersecurity, and IoT.

Strategic Pillars for Growth

The company outlined four strategic pillars: Quality Customers, Brilliant Customer Experience, Leveraging Digital Capabilities, and War on Waste. Investments in 5G network efficiency, data intelligence, and AI are key to enhancing customer experience. The company continues to focus on cost discipline and operational efficiency, having optimized over ₹11,000 Crore from network opex over the last five years.
