Ather Energy announced a robust performance for Q2 FY27, with total income surging 62% YoY to ₹1,527 crore. EBITDA margin improved to 4.9%, and consolidated PAT stood at ₹1.26 crore, a significant turnaround from the previous year’s loss. The company plans to increase its annual production capacity by 2.25 lakh units across its Hosur and AURIC facilities to meet rising demand.

Ather Energy Reports Strong Q2 FY27 Financials

Ather Energy has reported a significant financial performance for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27). The company’s total income saw a substantial increase of 62% year-on-year (YoY), reaching ₹1,527 crore. This growth was driven by higher volumes, strategic pricing actions, and a favorable change in product mix. Non-vehicle revenue, including AtherStack Pro, Ather Grid, accessories, spares, and service, contributed 15% of revenue, up from 12% YoY.

Margin Improvement and Profitability

The company also witnessed a notable improvement in its margins. Consolidated Adjusted Gross Margin (AGM) improved by 160 basis points (bps) YoY to 24%, despite elevated input costs for materials like aluminium, copper, and lithium. Consolidated EBITDA margin rose to 4.9%, marking Ather’s second consecutive EBITDA-positive quarter and building on the 0.8% margin from Q1 FY27. Consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the quarter was ₹1.26 crore, a significant recovery from a loss of ₹154 crore in the same period last year.

Surging Demand and Production Capacity Expansion

Electric two-wheeler registrations in India continued their strong upward trend, with Ather experiencing a surge in customer interest. Enquiries increased by 109% YoY to approximately 10 lakh, and pre-orders more than doubled to 1.80 lakh in Q2 FY27. To address this escalating demand, Ather is set to enhance its production capacity. The Hosur facility’s annual capacity will increase by 75,000 units to 4.95 lakh units by December 2026. Furthermore, Ather’s new facility in AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, is scheduled to commence production in phases from December 2026, initially with a capacity of 5 lakh units. This plant will be further expanded to add another 1.5 lakh units, bringing its total capacity to 6.5 lakh units by Q2 FY28.

Overall Capacity and Investment

With these expansions, Ather’s combined installed annual production capacity across its Hosur and AURIC facilities is projected to reach approximately 11.4 lakh units by Q2 FY28. The company plans to invest approximately ₹122 crore across these two facilities to support these significant capacity enhancements. The launch of ‘Konarc’, Ather’s new scooter on the EL platform, designed for comfort and convenience, is expected to broaden its customer base and further drive growth.

Executive Commentary

Tarun Mehta, Co-founder & CEO of Ather Energy, commented, “We delivered a strong quarter, with robust topline growth and a positive bottomline, despite surging commodity prices and supply chain disruptions. Underpinning this is a shift to electric two-wheelers that is now structural and playing out across India. At Ather, demand has more than doubled year-on-year this quarter, and to meet it, we are further augmenting our production capacity at Hosur and AURIC. With Konarc taking Ather to a wider set of customers, we see significant headroom for growth ahead.”
