Ashok Leyland Limited has released its sales performance data for the month of August 2026, showcasing impressive year-on-year growth across its product segments. The company reported a notable increase in both domestic and export sales, indicating a positive market trend and strong demand for its vehicles.
Domestic Sales Surge
In the domestic market, Ashok Leyland’s total sales volume for August 2026 reached 19,438 units. This represents a significant jump of 43% compared to the 13,622 units sold in August 2025. This growth was driven by strong performance in both Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) categories.
M&HCV Trucks sales in the domestic market grew by 60% to 10,285 units in August 2026, up from 6,426 units in August 2025. M&HCV Bus sales increased by 36% to 2,123 units, compared to 1,565 units in the prior year. The total M&HCV segment recorded a 55% increase, reaching 12,408 units.
The LCV segment also contributed positively, with sales rising by 25% to 7,030 units in August 2026, from 5,631 units in August 2025.
Domestic + Exports Performance
On a consolidated basis, including exports, Ashok Leyland’s total vehicles sales for August 2026 stood at 21,038 units, marking a 38% increase over the 15,239 units sold in August 2025.
The M&HCV Trucks category, combined with exports, saw sales grow by 60% to 10,748 units in August 2026, compared to 6,738 units in August 2025. The M&HCV Bus segment registered a sales volume of 2,971 units, an increase of 12% from 2,643 units year-on-year.
The total M&HCV segment (Domestic + Exports) reported a significant growth of 46%, with sales reaching 13,719 units in August 2026, up from 9,381 units in August 2025.
The LCV segment (Domestic + Exports) also experienced a 25% increase, with sales of 7,319 units in August 2026, compared to 5,858 units in August 2025.
Cumulative Sales Figures
Cumulatively, for the period reported, total domestic sales reached 83,720 units, an increase of 22% over the 68,350 units in the previous year. Total sales including exports also saw a 20% increase, reaching 89,391 units compared to 74,541 units.
