RITES Ltd. and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 07, 2026. The agreement is to provide consultancy services for the development of railway siding infrastructure across HPCL’s facilities. This collaboration aims to strengthen rail-based logistics for petroleum product movement and enhance infrastructure efficiency.
RITES and HPCL Forge Strategic Partnership
On August 07, 2026, RITES Ltd., a prominent transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering firm, officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). HPCL, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, will benefit from RITES’ expertise in developing crucial railway siding infrastructure across its numerous facilities.
Comprehensive Consultancy Services
Under the terms of the MoU, RITES will deliver end-to-end consultancy services. This comprehensive support will span the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept development and feasibility studies to final location surveys, detailed project reports (DPRs), and detailed engineering. Furthermore, RITES will provide project management consultancy, construction supervision, and facilitate coordination with Indian Railways for obtaining necessary statutory approvals.
Enhancing Logistics and Infrastructure
The core objective of this collaboration is to bolster rail-based logistics infrastructure, ensuring the efficient movement of petroleum products. This will be achieved through the development of new railway sidings, the establishment of new rail connectivity, and the enhancement of existing infrastructure. By leveraging RITES’ specialized knowledge in railway infrastructure and project management, the partnership is poised to significantly improve logistics efficiency and support HPCL’s ongoing infrastructure development initiatives nationwide.
