Zen Technologies has secured a significant order worth ₹108 crore from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for tank crew gunnery training simulators. This order validates the company’s indigenous R&D efforts and marks a full circle moment, over a decade after supplying its first tank simulators to the Indian Army. This contract underscores the importance of simulation-based training for modernizing India’s armed forces.
Significant MoD Contract
Zen Technologies, an IDDM-compliant indigenous defense technology company, has been awarded a major contract from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, totaling ₹108 crores (including GST) for tank crew gunnery training simulators, as of November 25, 2025.
Executive Commentary
Mr. Ashok Atluri, Chairman and Managing Director of Zen Technologies, stated that this ₹108 crore order validates indigenous R&D and proves what’s possible when policy protects genuine Indian IP. He highlighted a TERI study showing that just 15% penetration of crew gunnery simulators saves ₹1,123 crore annually for our armed forces.
Strategic Importance
This procurement results directly from the Ministry of Defence’s Simulation Framework released in September 2021, which recognized simulation-based training as a strategic priority for force modernization. This order represents just the initial phase of a much larger requirement.
