Mr. Sumit Garg’s Profile and Experience
Mr. Sumit Garg, aged 55, possesses extensive experience spanning over 30 years in technology and transformation leadership. His career encompasses roles in highly regulated sectors, including Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, FMCG/CPG, and Automobile industries. He has led enterprise-wide transformations, with expertise in areas such as AI/GenAI, SAP, enterprise platforms, digital manufacturing, supply chain, data analytics, cloud, and cybersecurity.
Prior to his current role at Wockhardt, Mr. Garg served as Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer at Piramal Pharma Solutions, where he was responsible for the Technology vertical and driving digital transformation initiatives across North America, the UK, and Asia. He also spent over two decades at GSK Consumer & Pharma, where his last role was Director IT for the APAC region, focusing on IT strategy for digital supply chains and business transformation through IT.
Academically, Mr. Garg holds a Master’s in Computer Application (MCA) from Thapar Institute and a Master’s in Physics (M.Sc. Hons) from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He also holds globally recognized credentials including CISA, CGEIT, and Six Sigma.
