Expansion into Specialized Coatings

Welspun Corp Limited (WCL) has received approval for the incorporation of a new wholly owned subsidiary, to be named ‘Welspun Special Coating Private Limited’ or a similar name as approved by authorities. This new entity is a step-down subsidiary of WCL, established through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Welspun DI Pipes Limited (WDI).

Scope of Business Operations

The primary objective of ‘Welspun Special Coating Private Limited’ will be to engage in the business of applying, providing, executing, and undertaking all types of coating works. This includes a wide range of services such as polyolefin, polymers, fusion bonded epoxy (internal and external), epoxy, polyurethane, polyethylene, polypropylene, coal tar, blasting, painting, and anti-corrosive treatments. The subsidiary will also offer anti-rust, abrasion-resistant, heat-resistant, and other protective or functional coatings, or any combination thereof.

Strategic Rationale

This strategic initiative by Welspun Corp is expected to enhance its capabilities and market presence in the specialized coatings sector, catering to industries requiring robust protection for pipes and metallic structures. The incorporation is subject to necessary governmental and regulatory approvals, including from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
