Vodafone Idea Limited Financial Turnaround and Strategic Growth for FY26

Vodafone Idea Limited announced a landmark financial performance for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2026. The company achieved Rs. 44,873 Crore in full-year revenue, driven by premiumization and a stable subscriber base of 192.8 million. Following a definitive resolution to the AGR matter, the company reported a net profit of Rs. 34,552 Crore for the full year and is poised for future growth with a planned Rs. 45,000 Crore capex investment.

Financial Highlights and Operational Progress

For the fourth quarter of FY26, Vodafone Idea reported revenue of Rs. 11,332 Crore, representing a 2.9% year-on-year growth. The full-year revenue grew by 3% to Rs. 44,873 Crore. The company’s focus on premiumization yielded a healthy expansion in Customer ARPU, which reached Rs. 190, marking 19 consecutive quarters of growth. Additionally, the 4G/5G subscriber mix improved to 66.9%, with 128.9 million total 4G/5G users.

Strategic Resolution of AGR Liabilities

A significant milestone was reached with the definitive conclusion of the Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) matter. Following a government-led reassessment, AGR dues were finalized at Rs. 64,046 Crore, down from the previous Rs. 87,695 Crore. This resolution allows for a structured repayment schedule through FY41, significantly improving the company’s balance sheet. Consequently, the company recognized a one-time benefit in exceptional items, leading to a net profit of Rs. 34,552 Crore for the FY26 period.

Network Expansion and Future Outlook

The company continues to aggressively expand its infrastructure, having added over 17,300 new broadband towers in the past year. 5G services are now live in over 80 cities across 17 circles. Looking ahead, management confirmed a committed Rs. 45,000 Crore capex plan for the next three years. With Kumar Mangalam Birla taking charge as Non-Executive Chairman and an additional Rs. 4,730 Crore equity infusion from the promoter group, Vodafone Idea is well-positioned for sustained growth and network modernization.
