Varroc Engineering Limited Sustainability Milestones and Kham River Restoration Efforts

Varroc Engineering Limited has reaffirmed its sustainability commitment, marked by a surge in its ESG rating to 75 and improved EcoVadis rankings. The company has aggressively accelerated its clean energy transition, reaching 40% renewable energy usage in its electricity consumption. Additionally, Varroc continues its impactful environmental stewardship through the long-term restoration of the Kham River, demonstrating its dedication to circular manufacturing and responsible community-driven ecological development.

Elevated ESG Performance

Varroc has achieved significant recognition for its sustainability transparency, reaching an ESG rating of 75 assigned by CFC Finlease Private Limited. This growth is complemented by an upward revision in its EcoVadis sustainability rating, which improved from 44 to 52, pushing the company into the 34th percentile globally. These accomplishments reflect the company’s strategic integration of environmental responsibility into its core operations.

Energy Transition and Emissions Reduction

The company is making substantial progress toward a greener manufacturing footprint. In FY25-26, Varroc successfully increased its renewable energy usage to approximately 40% of its total electricity consumption. Through the implementation of over 100 energy efficiency projects, the company avoided over 28,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions in FY 2026, achieving an approximate 26% year-on-year reduction in overall carbon emissions.

Kham River Restoration Impact

Varroc’s environmental commitment extends beyond its plants to the restoration of the Kham River. This community-focused initiative has resulted in the restoration of 54 acres of riparian zones and the planting of over 22,748 saplings to stabilize ecological buffers. The project has addressed 110 Garbage Vulnerable Points and now supports organized waste collection for 25,000 households, significantly mitigating local flooding risks.

Operational Circularity

Maintaining a focus on circular manufacturing, Varroc now recycles over 90% of the total waste generated across its facilities. The adoption of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems further underscores the company’s commitment to water stewardship, enabling high levels of wastewater recycling and reuse in water-stressed regions. Looking forward, Varroc plans to deepen its supply chain ESG integration and further reduce its Scope 3 emissions.
