Key Drivers of Performance

The company attributed the improved performance to higher sugar realisations and sales volumes in both the sugar and alcohol segments, as well as improved realisation of the grain distillery by-product (DDGS). Profitability improvement in H1 FY27 was primarily driven by an increase in sugar margins, higher proportion of high-margin maize feedstock, improved DDGS realisation, and lower finance costs. The company also highlighted a substantial reduction in net debt, improving its balance sheet position.
