Torrent Power: Incorporates Two New Renewable Energy Subsidiaries

Torrent Power Limited has announced the incorporation of two new wholly-owned subsidiaries, Torrent Urja 50 Private Limited and Torrent Urja 51 Private Limited. These entities are established for the purpose of carrying on business in electricity generation, including renewable energy sources. This move aligns with the company’s strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio and capacity.

Torrent Power Expands Renewable Energy Footprint

Torrent Power Limited has officially incorporated two new step-down subsidiaries, Torrent Urja 50 Private Limited and Torrent Urja 51 Private Limited. The incorporation took place on August 19, 2026, marking a strategic expansion in the company’s renewable energy segment.

Subsidiary Details

These newly formed entities are wholly owned by Torrent Green Energy Private Limited (TGEPL), which is itself a wholly owned subsidiary of Torrent Power Limited. Both new subsidiaries are registered with the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat, at Ahmedabad. The stated business objective for these subsidiaries is to engage in the generation, transmission, distribution, and trading of power, with a particular focus on all forms of non-conventional, renewable, green, and hydro power, as well as other energy sources.

The initial investment for each subsidiary is detailed as ₹5,00,000/-, representing 50,000 equity shares of ₹10/- each. This investment secures 100% of the equity share capital of both Torrent Urja 50 Private Limited and Torrent Urja 51 Private Limited, underscoring Torrent Power’s commitment to growing its renewable energy generation capacity.
