Torrent Power Limited has officially announced a significant transition in its top financial leadership. The Board of Directors, in a meeting held on August 20, 2026, accepted the resignation of Saurabh Mashruwala from the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Whole Time Key Managerial Personnel. His resignation is effective from the close of business hours on August 20, 2026, attributed to his planned retirement.
Appointment of New CFO
Following Mashruwala’s departure, the Board has approved the appointment of Vikas Poddar as the new Chief Financial Officer and Whole Time Key Managerial Personnel of the Company. Poddar’s appointment will be effective from August 21, 2026. He is also designated as Senior Management Personnel.
Transition of Responsibilities
Consequent to these changes, Saurabh Mashruwala will also cease to be the Key Managerial Personnel authorised for determining the materiality of events and making disclosures to stock exchanges under regulation 30 of the Listing Regulations, effective from the close of business hours of August 20, 2026. Vikas Poddar will assume these responsibilities from August 21, 2026.

Vikas Poddar brings a wealth of experience to Torrent Power. He holds an MBA from the National University of Singapore and is a Chartered Accountant with over 27 years of extensive experience in the finance sector. Prior to joining Torrent Power, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Indus Towers, a prominent telecommunications infrastructure company. His prior roles include various finance leadership positions at Vodafone, where he was instrumental in strategic planning and financial performance improvements, and earlier at ITC Limited.

Saurabh Mashruwala’s resignation letter, dated August 20, 2026, confirmed his decision was due to planned retirement. He expressed commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and extended his gratitude to the Board and management for the opportunities and experiences gained during his tenure.
