Thomas Cook (India) Limited Launch of Industry-First Visa Rejection Insurance Cover

Thomas Cook India and SOTC Travel have unveiled a groundbreaking Visa Rejection Cover, becoming the first in the Indian travel industry to offer this dedicated protection. Underwritten by ICICI Lombard, this new solution safeguards travelers against non-refundable financial losses incurred if a visa application is denied. This initiative aims to provide travelers with greater confidence and financial security when planning their journeys in an increasingly complex global travel environment.

Bridging the Protection Gap

In response to evolving visa protocols and increasing customer concerns, Thomas Cook India and its group company, SOTC Travel, have launched a unique Trip cancellation due to visa rejection cover. This pioneering solution is designed to protect travelers from the financial impact of visa denials, which remain outside of a traveler’s direct control. By mitigating the risk of losing non-refundable advance payments for accommodation and travel, the companies aim to offer a more secure and reliable travel planning experience.

Comprehensive Coverage

The insurance solution, underwritten by ICICI Lombard, is available to customers across a wide spectrum of travel products. This includes Group and FIT (Free Independent Traveler) tours, as well as MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and corporate travel businesses. Under the terms of the policy, the company will indemnify the insured for non-recoverable advance payments, including official cancellation charges, provided the visa application is not for employment or immigrant purposes.

Commitment to Innovation

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Abraham Alapatt, President & Group Head – Marketing, Service Quality, Value Added Services & Innovation, noted that financial protection has become a critical element of modern travel. This product launch underscores the organizations’ ongoing commitment to customer-centric innovation, ensuring that clients can plan their international trips with greater peace of mind despite the uncertainties inherent in current global visa processes.
