The Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Limited Delivering Strong Financial Growth in FY26

The Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Limited (SMIORE) has achieved a stellar fiscal year, reaching record-high production levels. The company recorded ₹5,163 crore in total income for FY26, representing a 61% YoY growth, with PAT at ₹658 crore. Bolstered by strategic growth, including the acquisition of Arjas Steel, SMIORE has become a net debt-free company as of 31 March 2026, positioning itself as a dominant integrated player in the Indian steel and mining sector.

Record-Breaking Operational Performance

FY26 marked a significant milestone for SMIORE, with production and sales volumes for both manganese and iron ore reaching all-time highs. Iron ore production saw a 14% YoY expansion to 4.45 MTPA, while manganese ore production grew by 15% YoY. These results underscore the effectiveness of the company’s fully-mechanized mining operations and disciplined focus on operational excellence.

Strategic Transformation and Steel Integration

The successful integration of Arjas Steel Private Limited, completed in November 2024, has transformed SMIORE into a diversified, integrated player. The steel segment, now contributing significantly to the portfolio, focuses on the Special Bar Quality (SBQ) segment. With a cumulative steel manufacturing capacity of 0.585 MTPA and over 100+ grades manufactured for automotive and industrial applications, the company has secured a position among the top 5 players in this specialized industry.

Robust Financial Health and Deleveraging

SMIORE’s commitment to capital discipline resulted in a strong financial performance for FY26. The company achieved a standalone net debt-free status by the end of the fiscal year, primarily through the prepayment of ₹423 crore in Non-Convertible Debentures. This financial strength, supported by internal accruals, provides a stable foundation for accelerated growth in FY27. The Board has also recommended a final dividend of ₹0.5 per equity share, reflecting the company’s focus on shared value creation.

Sustainability and Future Outlook

Environmental stewardship remains a core priority, as evidenced by the company’s recognition as a 7-Star Rated Mine for 2023-24. Looking ahead, SMIORE is advancing its Downhill Conveyor System (DCS) project, expected to be operational in H1FY27, which will enhance environment-friendly logistics. With positive signs of recovery in the ferroalloys market and continued strength in the mining segment, the company is well-positioned for sustainable growth in the coming year.
