The company reported a consolidated EBITDA of ₹9,370 crores, marking a substantial 25% year-on-year increase. Consolidated revenues stood at ₹60,794 crores for the quarter.

Consolidated Performance
The consolidated EBITDA for Q1 FY27 reached ₹9,370 crores, compared to ₹7,480 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous year (1QFY26). This growth was primarily attributed to higher steel realisations across geographies and operational efficiencies. The company’s EBITDA per ton also saw an improvement, standing at ₹12,898 for the quarter.
India Operations Lead Growth
The Indian operations were a significant growth driver, with revenues reported at ₹36,989 crores and EBITDA at ₹9,908 crores. The EBITDA margin in India stood at a healthy 27%, with the EBITDA per ton improving by ₹3,255 QoQ to ₹19,162 per ton. Production in India was 5.76 million tons, with deliveries at 5.17 million tons.
Overseas Operations
In the Netherlands, revenues were €1,445 million with an EBITDA of €4 million, despite operational disruptions. The UK operations saw a narrowed EBITDA loss of £27 million. The company is actively working towards the restart of operations in the Netherlands and anticipates benefits from safeguard measures in the UK.
Strategic Investments and Capital Expenditure
Tata Steel has continued its focus on strategic growth, with a capital expenditure of ₹3,579 crores during the quarter. The Board has also approved a significant core project for steelmaking capacity expansion by 4.8 MTPA at Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited, involving an estimated capex of ₹33,873 crores. This expansion aims to strengthen the company’s long products portfolio.
Financial Position
The company maintained a strong liquidity position, with group liquidity at ₹45,950 crores, including cash and cash equivalents of ₹13,221 crores. Net debt stood at ₹84,173 crores, with a Net Debt to EBITDA ratio of 2.3x.
