Tata Power Partners with Salesforce to Accelerate India’s Clean Energy Transition

Tata Power has announced a strategic collaboration with Salesforce to digitally transform its rapidly expanding renewable energy businesses, including rooftop solar, EV charging, and smart home solutions. This partnership leverages Salesforce’s #1 AI CRM to establish a secure, intelligent, and integrated clean energy ecosystem. The goal is to scale green energy capacity, enhance customer engagement, and support India’s net-zero ambitions ahead of the 2045 target.

Strategic Collaboration Announced

On March 6, 2026, The Tata Power Company Limited announced a collaboration with Salesforce, the world’s leading AI CRM provider. This partnership aims to digitally transform Tata Power’s high-growth renewable segments: rooftop solar (RTS), EV charging, and smart home solutions. The initiative directly supports Tata Power’s long-term commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2045 and aligns with India’s broader net-zero goals.

Enabling a Digitally Powered Ecosystem

Tata Power is deploying several Salesforce solutions, including Agentforce Sales, Agentforce Service, and Agentforce Marketing, across its renewable energy subsidiary, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL). This deployment creates a strategic digital backbone designed for:

  • Enabling end-to-end digitization of partner and customer journeys.
  • Delivering streamlined lead management and inventory visibility.
  • Ensuring enhanced transparency and operational efficiency across touchpoints.

Furthermore, Tata Power has integrated a proprietary deep learning and agentic intelligence layer on top of Salesforce to facilitate a zero-touch quality and safety validation process for its Solaroof offerings.

Accelerated Growth in Solar Segment

The collaboration comes as Tata Power’s residential rooftop solar segment experiences significant momentum, driven by policy support like the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. The segment delivered over 200% growth across the past two financial years. Overall, the company’s solar portfolio achieved a fivefold increase in revenues between FY2020 and FY2025.

Leadership Perspectives

Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power, emphasized that digital capability is critical for achieving scale and speed in India’s green energy transition. He stated, “Leveraging Salesforce’s AI-powered platform, we are transforming customer and partner journeys with greater transparency and agility.”
