Tata Consultancy Services Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report for FY 2026

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has released its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report for FY 2026, detailing its commitment to ESG excellence. With 94.1% of its turnover driven by exports, the company continues to integrate digital innovation with environmental stewardship. Key achievements include a 84% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from the FY 2016 base year and sourcing 79% of its energy from renewable sources, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable IT solutions.

Commitment to Sustainable Growth

TCS continues to embed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into its core business strategy. The company operates across 55 countries with 312 global facilities, maintaining a workforce of 6,17,437 employees. The company has prioritized decarbonization, water conservation, and waste management as key pillars of its environmental stewardship, achieving significant milestones in the reporting period.

Environmental Performance Highlights

The company has made substantial progress toward its climate goals, including a 84% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions since FY 2016. Furthermore, 79% of the company’s energy requirements are now met through renewable sources. TCS also maintains a strong commitment to resource efficiency, with 99% of treated water being recycled for reuse and 76.4% of waste generated being successfully recovered through recycling and reuse initiatives.

Human Capital and Inclusion

With a diverse workforce, TCS has achieved a 35.3% representation of women. The company also maintains a strong focus on professional development, with 97.4% of employees receiving training on health and safety and 93.3% on skill upgradation during FY 2026. Additionally, the company has fostered an inclusive environment, reflected in its Disability Inclusion policy and ongoing efforts to support employee well-being across all geographies.

Governance and Social Responsibility

TCS remains dedicated to ethical business practices and transparency. The company has structured grievance redressal mechanisms for all stakeholders. Its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including the Women Empowerment Programme (WEP) and Youth Employment Programme (YEP), have benefited over 1.2 million and 1,000+ individuals respectively, focusing on bridging the digital divide and promoting equitable development in aspirational districts across India.
