Gross Profit stood at ₹3,262 Mn, up by 2.6% QoQ and 25.1% YoY. EBITDA reached ₹2,012 Mn, showing a 4.9% QoQ and 22.7% YoY growth. Profit After Tax (PAT) was reported at ₹1,422 Mn, a 5.8% QoQ and 20.1% YoY increase. Earnings Per Share (EPS) was ₹10.77.
Free Cash Flow (FCF) was recorded at ₹1,259 Mn, representing 89% of PAT. The company’s Cash balance at the end of the quarter was ₹11,970 Mn, post dividend payouts of ₹796 Mn.
Revenue Growth Drivers
Revenue saw a 4.1% QoQ and 17.8% YoY growth. Sequentially, revenue increased by ₹489 Mn, with existing customers contributing ₹458 Mn and new customer additions accounting for ₹31 Mn. The YoY growth of ₹1,857 Mn was driven by ₹1,195 Mn from existing customers and ₹662 Mn from newly onboarded customers over the trailing twelve months. Growth was led by Wisely.ai, SMS, and OTT channels.
Within business segments, Digital Platforms grew by 0.2% QoQ and 12.2% YoY, contributing 8.4% to overall revenue. Enterprise Communications grew by 4.5% QoQ and 18.4% YoY, making up 91.6% of the revenue. The growth in Enterprise Communications was primarily driven by higher wallet share within existing customers.
Gross Profit and Margin Analysis
Gross Profit grew by 2.6% QoQ and 25.1% YoY to ₹3,262 Mn. Sequential gross profit increased by ₹83 Mn, partly offset by a 40 bps contraction in gross margin. YoY gross profit increased by ₹655 Mn, driven by revenue growth and margin expansion. Both Digital Platforms and Enterprise Communications segments delivered double-digit YoY growth in gross profit.
The overall gross margin contracted by 40 bps in Q1 FY27 due to a change in customer mix. Digital Platforms continued to operate at approximately 98% gross margin, while Enterprise Communications maintained a gross margin around 20%.
Efficiency and Profitability Metrics
Indirect costs as a percentage of revenue and gross profit were maintained at 10% and 38% respectively. Gross profit to EBITDA conversion stood at 61.7% in Q1 FY27. EBITDA grew by 4.9% QoQ and 22.7% YoY. PAT grew by 5.8% QoQ and 20.1% YoY, driven by higher EBITDA.
Customer Cohorts and Growth
Tanla reported an expansion of customer relationships, with the total count of customers reaching 353. A significant portion of revenue continues to be driven by higher wallet share within the existing customer base. Customers with annualized revenue above ₹10 Mn grew by 4.5% QoQ and 16.7% YoY to ₹11,805 Mn. The ₹100-500 Mn segment within this cohort saw an 10.8% QoQ and 43.9% YoY growth. Newly acquired customers contributed ₹31 Mn in Q1 FY27, with 49% of new customers added on WA and RCS.
