Annual Financial Performance
For the financial year ended March 31, 2026, SBI recorded a consolidated net profit of ₹85,168.47 crore, reflecting a healthy performance compared to the previous year. The standalone net profit for the same period stood at ₹80,032.01 crore. The bank’s total income for the year reached ₹7,09,616.96 crore on a consolidated basis.
Dividend and Shareholder Payout
The Central Board of the bank has recommended a dividend of ₹17.35 per equity share (1735%) for the financial year 2025-26. The record date for determining shareholder eligibility for this dividend is June 4, 2026, with the official payout scheduled for June 4, 2026.
Asset Quality and Provisioning
The bank maintained a strong focus on asset quality, reporting a Gross NPA ratio of 1.49% and a Net NPA ratio of 0.39% as of March 31, 2026. The Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) stands at 74.36%, which increases to 91.97% when accounting for the Advance Under Collection Account (AUCA). This strategic classification of fully provided accounts in a separate head demonstrates the bank’s commitment to maintaining a clean balance sheet.
Capital Adequacy and Strategic Moves
The bank’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (Basel III) is robust at 15.40%, with a CET 1 ratio of 12.29%. During the year, the bank successfully raised ₹25,000 crore through the allotment of equity shares to Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) in July 2025. Additionally, the bank completed significant strategic divestments, including stakes in Jio Payments Bank and Yes Bank, which contributed to the bank’s profitability and capital reserves.
