The new entity will focus on strengthening the transmission system for the integration of additional Renewable Energy potential at Davanagere (0.25 GW) and Bellary (2.75 GW). This move is part of REC’s strategy to expand its footprint in the power transmission sector and support the growth of renewable energy infrastructure.
New Subsidiary Incorporation
REC Limited has announced the incorporation of Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission Limited as its wholly-owned subsidiary, effective September 25, 2025. The newly formed entity has an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000 each.
Purpose of Incorporation
The primary objective of Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission Limited is to strengthen the transmission system for integrating additional Renewable Energy (RE) potential. This includes projects at Davanagere (0.25 GW) and Bellary (2.75 GW).
Role of RECPDCL
REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), another wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Limited, was appointed as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC). RECPDCL will oversee the selection of a bidder for the establishment of the transmission system.
Transfer of Ownership
After the successful bidder is selected, Bellary Davanagere Power Transmission Limited will be transferred to that bidder, along with all its assets and liabilities, following Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines.
