REC Limited: Incorporates Two New Wholly Owned Subsidiaries

REC Limited has announced the incorporation of two new wholly owned subsidiary companies: Vikramshila Power Transmission Limited and Alkud II Power Transmission Limited. These entities have been established as subsidiaries of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited. The incorporation aligns with strategic objectives for developing power transmission projects across India, with initial capital contributions of ₹5,00,000/- each.

In a strategic move to bolster its development and operational capabilities in the power sector, REC Limited has announced the incorporation of two new wholly owned subsidiary companies. The entities, named Vikramshila Power Transmission Limited and Alkud II Power Transmission Limited, were incorporated on August 24, 2026 and August 25, 2026, respectively. These companies are established as Wholly Owned Subsidiaries of REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), which itself is a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of REC Limited.

Strategic Expansion in Power Transmission

The incorporation of these subsidiaries marks a significant step in REC Limited’s ongoing expansion efforts within the power transmission infrastructure segment. Vikramshila Power Transmission Limited is set to undertake a transmission project allocated by the Government of Bihar for the evacuation of power from the 3×800 MW STPP Pirpainti. Concurrently, Alkud II Power Transmission Limited will focus on establishing a transmission project in Maharashtra, involving the establishment of 765/400/220 kV AIS Alkud-II/Jath. Both entities have an authorized and paid-up capital of ₹5,00,000/- each, indicating their initial setup for future project execution.

Regulatory Compliance and Future Outlook

The establishment of these new companies is in line with the provisions of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015. REC Limited has provided the necessary details regarding the incorporation, including the CIN numbers and the nature of their business, as required. These subsidiaries are considered related parties to REC Limited, consistent with the Companies Act, 2013. The company anticipates that after the selection of successful bidders based on Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines, these entities, along with their assets and liabilities, will be transferred to the respective successful bidders.
