Rail Vikas Nigam Limited Emerges as Lowest Bidder for East Coast Railway Project

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been declared the lowest bidder (L1) by the East Coast Railway for a major infrastructure project. The contract involves the construction of the 3rd and 4th railway lines and multiple critical bridges along the Bhadrak-Vizianagaram section. Valued at approximately INR 967.93 crore, this project is expected to be executed over a period of three years, significantly bolstering the company’s order book.

Project Details and Scope

The project awarded to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited covers the 3rd and 4th line developments between Nergundi-Barang (22Km) and Khurda Road-Vizianagaram (363Km). The scope of work focuses on the construction of essential large-scale bridges, specifically Bridge nos. 539, 544, 553, and 557, which involve complex Open Web Steel Girder structures over the Birupa, Mahanadi, Kathjori, and Kuakhai rivers. The project will be implemented on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) mode.

Contract Value and Timeline

The total consideration for this significant infrastructure contract is INR 967,92,66,661.70, a figure that is inclusive of 18% GST. The company has committed to a project delivery timeline of 03 (three) years. This achievement underscores RVNL’s continued role in strengthening India’s rail network and its expertise in executing large-scale engineering projects within the transportation sector.
