Praj Industries Launches Advanced Precision Fermentation Lab at Praj Matrix

On its 18th Foundation Day, Praj Industries announced the launch of an Advanced Precision Fermentation Lab at its R&D center, Praj Matrix. This facility is designed to drive next-generation biotechnology and support India’s BioE3 vision. By integrating AI-enabled fermentation and advanced bioprocessing, the company aims to accelerate the transition to sustainable, low-carbon biomanufacturing while fostering strong academia-industry collaborations through a new partnership with BRIC-NCCS.

Strategic Expansion in Biotechnology

Praj Industries has marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its Advanced Precision Fermentation Lab. The facility focuses on high-capacity, AI-enabled precision fermentation to improve process efficiency and reliability. By leveraging this technology, Praj aims to reduce scale-up risks and deliver advanced solutions to the pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, biofuel, and beverage sectors.

Supporting the National BioE3 Vision

The initiative aligns directly with the Government of India’s BioE3 (Biotechnology for Economy, Environment and Employment) initiative. By combining Praj’s industrial expertise with the microbial research and genomic capabilities of BRIC–NCCS, the partnership seeks to build a globally competitive biomanufacturing ecosystem. This collaboration will bridge the gap between scientific discovery and scalable industrial production.

Focus on Innovation and Human Capital

Dr. Pramod Chaudhari, Founder Chairman of Praj Industries, highlighted that the lab brings together biology, engineering, and digital technologies. Beyond technological advancement, the facility will serve as a hub for skill development, providing hands-on training and internships for PhD scholars. Supported by a team of over 90 scientists and a portfolio of 300+ patents, this new lab reinforces Praj’s role as a core innovation engine in the global transition to a sustainable, bio-based economy.
