POWERGRID has announced the complete commissioning of its “Transmission System for evacuation of Power from REZ in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase-III Part-H” project. This significant infrastructure development was officially commissioned with effect from 04th July, 2026. The company received the Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) on 09th July, 2026. The project, initially entrusted to Beawar Dausa Transmission Limited, is now fully integrated into POWERGRID’s operations following amalgamation.
Major Project Commissioning in Rajasthan
POWERGRID, India’s largest power transmission utility, has successfully commissioned a key project aimed at evacuating power from Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) in Rajasthan. The project, identified as “Transmission System for evacuation of Power from REZ in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase-III Part-H,” has achieved complete operational status effective 04th July, 2026.
Commercial Operation and Integration
The company received the formal Notification for Commercial Operation (DOCO) for this project on 09th July, 2026, via email on 03rd August, 2026. This development marks a significant milestone in enhancing the national grid’s capacity to integrate renewable energy. The project was initially undertaken by Beawar Dausa Transmission Limited, a former subsidiary, which has since been amalgamated with POWERGRID Vataman Transmission Limited, effective 01st March 2026, as per the Ministry of Corporate Affairs’ order.
