Project Details and Rationale
Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited is the Project Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) tasked with establishing the transmission system for the “Augmentation at Bhadla-III, Ramgarh PS and Kanpur (PG)”. The project operates on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis, facilitated by the Bid Process Coordinator – REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL). The project encompasses essential augmentation and bay extension works at substations located in Bhadla-III S/S (Rajasthan), Ramgarh S/S (Rajasthan), and Kanpur S/S (Uttar Pradesh).
Acquisition Details
The acquisition was completed for an aggregate value of approximately Rs. 12.86 Crore. This includes 50,000 equity shares at par value of Rs. 10/- each, along with the assets and liabilities of Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited as of the acquisition date. It is important to note that the final acquisition price is subject to adjustments based on the audited accounts of the Company as on the acquisition date. POWERGRID has acquired 100% shareholding and control of the entity. Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited is yet to commence commercial operations, and thus, no turnover has been recorded in the last three years. The entity will operate within India.
Regulatory Approvals and Future Steps
Requisite approvals for the transfer of Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited were obtained by the Bid Process Coordinator. However, approvals for the Grant of Transmission License and the Adoption of Transmission Charges are to be secured from the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission by Bhadla Ramgarh Power Transmission Limited post-acquisition. The entity was incorporated on May 8, 2026, by the Bid Process Coordinator.
