Punjab National Bank: Bank Unions Announce Strike on Multiple Dates in Sept & Oct

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has announced that various bank unions, including the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) and All India Bank Adhikari Sena Mahasangh (AIBASM), have called for strikes on multiple dates in September 2026. Further, a continuous strike is planned from October 26, 2026, in support of their demands. While PNB is taking steps to ensure smooth operations, the bank has cautioned that branch and office functioning may be affected if the strikes materialize.

Bank Union Strike Notification

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has received notification regarding potential industrial action by bank unions. The Indian Bank Association (IBA) has informed PNB about the calls for strikes by several constituent unions and associations. This information is being disseminated to comply with SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015.

Strike Schedule and Impact

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has announced a strike on September 11, 28, 29, and 30, 2026. Additionally, they have called for a continuous strike commencing from October 26, 2026, to support their demands.

Similarly, the All India Bank Adhikari Sena Mahasangh (AIBASM) and Bank Karmachari Sena Mahasangh (BKSM) have called for strikes on September 28, 29, and 30, 2026, and a continuous strike from October 26, 2026.

PNB is actively implementing measures to ensure the smooth functioning of its branches and offices during these periods. However, the bank acknowledges that the operational efficiency of its branches and offices might be impacted if the strikes proceed as planned.
