Pearl Global Industries: Expands Bangladesh Manufacturing with New Facility

Pearl Global Industries has commissioned a new manufacturing facility and expanded its sustainable laundry capacity in Bangladesh. This strategic expansion adds approximately 7 million pieces of annual garment capacity, bringing the company’s total installed manufacturing capacity across geographies to an estimated 108 million pieces annually. The move aims to strengthen its sourcing market position and enhance operational efficiency, with an expected ROCE of 18-20% from the laundry expansion.

Pearl Global Industries Limited (PGIL), a prominent garment exporter, has announced the commissioning of a new manufacturing facility and the expansion of its sustainable laundry capacity in Bangladesh. This strategic move is set to bolster the company’s production capabilities and its position in a key sourcing market.

Increased Production Capacity

The new manufacturing unit is expected to contribute approximately 7 million pieces of annual garment capacity. With this addition, the company’s overall installed manufacturing capacity across its global operations is projected to reach a substantial 108 million pieces per annum at optimal utilization. This expansion is designed to meet the evolving demands of its international clientele.

Strategic Rationale and Expected Returns

Mr. Pulkit Seth, Vice-Chairman & Non-Executive Director, highlighted the company’s focus on strategic capital expenditure to capitalize on growth opportunities in Bangladesh. He emphasized that the country’s favorable trade access positions it as a significant growth driver for the Group. Mr. Pallab Banerjee, Managing Director, added that the new facility, coupled with enhanced laundry capacity, will improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and is anticipated to yield a Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) of approximately 18–20%.
