NTPC: Group Capacity Reaches 91,086 MW After Wind Project Update

NTPC has announced the successful commissioning of a 6.3 MW wind energy project in Gujarat, operated by its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL). This development brings the total installed capacity of the NTPC group to 91,086 MW, with a commercial capacity of 90,006 MW. The Vanki Wind Energy Project’s second phase has been declared operational, contributing to NTPC’s expanding renewable energy portfolio.

NTPC Group Expands Capacity with New Wind Project

NTPC Limited has announced a significant increase in its group’s installed capacity following the declaration of commercial operation for a new wind energy project. The disclosure, made on 12th September 2026, confirms that the second part capacity of 6.3 MW from the Vanki Wind Energy Project has become operational. This project is located in Nakhatrana, Kutch, Gujarat.

Contribution from NTPC Green Energy Limited

The Vanki Wind Energy Project is part of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, which is a stepdown subsidiary of NTPC Limited, managed through its subsidiary, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL). The declaration of COD (Commercial Operation Date) for this phase was effective from 13th September 2026 at 00:00 hrs.

Aggregate Capacity Figures

With the addition of this new capacity, the total installed capacity of the entire NTPC group now stands at an impressive 91,086 MW. The group’s commercial capacity has also been updated to 90,006 MW, reflecting the operational status of its power generation assets.
