NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) reported a strong operational performance for FY 2025–26, adding 4,174 MW of renewable capacity. This expansion brings the Group’s total operational renewable energy capacity to 10,076 MW, a significant increase from 5,902 MW in the previous year. The company also achieved a record gross generation of 5.62 billion units on a standalone basis and 14.60 billion units on a consolidated basis, more than doubling its generation compared to the previous year.
Significant Capacity Expansion in FY 2025-26
NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has announced a substantial increase in its operational renewable energy capacity during the financial year 2025-26, adding a remarkable 4,174 MW. This expansion has boosted the Group’s total operational capacity to an impressive 10,076 MW as of 31st March 2026, a considerable leap from 5,902 MW as of 31st March 2025. This achievement underscores NGEL’s commitment to strengthening its position as a leading green energy company in India.
Record Generation and Financial Performance
The company also reported a record gross generation of 5.62 billion units (BUs) of electricity on a standalone basis and 14.60 billion units (BUs) on a consolidated basis. This represents a more than doubling of its generation compared to the previous financial year, highlighting the company’s operational efficiency and the successful integration of new capacities. Financially, on a standalone basis, the company recorded a total income of ₹2,143.58 crore with a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₹405.97 crore. On a consolidated basis, the total income increased to ₹3,035.12 crore, while PAT reached ₹521.35 crore.
Strategic Growth Initiatives
NGEL’s strategic initiatives include a focus on expanding its renewable energy portfolio, energy storage systems, green hydrogen, and emerging technologies. The company is actively pursuing growth opportunities and has secured awards and entered into MoUs to further its expansion. With a long-term aspiration of achieving 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032, NGEL is well-positioned to contribute significantly to India’s energy transition.
