Niva Bupa Health Insurance Company Limited has announced significant changes to its leadership team, including the appointment of two new Non-Executive Directors and the elevation of Mr. Ankur Kharbanda to Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective May 8, 2026. Additionally, the company approved a grant of over 12.25 million employee stock options and acknowledged the resignations of two outgoing board members.

Leadership Appointments and Restructuring

The company has strengthened its board with the appointment of Mr. Christopher Patrick Carroll and Ms. Siobhan Djihan Moynihan as Additional Directors in the category of Non-Executive Director. These appointments will take effect on May 15, 2026, subject to approval from shareholders. Simultaneously, the board has approved the promotion of Mr. Ankur Kharbanda from his previous role as Executive Director and Chief Business Officer to Executive Director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer, effective May 8, 2026.

Board Transitions

The company also formally accepted the resignations of Ms. Penelope Ruth Dudley and Mr. Carlos Antonio Jaureguizar Ruiz-Jarabo from their roles as Non-Executive Directors. Both resignations were driven by their limited availability to dedicate time to the company due to other professional commitments and were effective as of the close of business hours on May 8, 2026.

Employee Stock Option Plan

In a move to incentivize talent, the board has approved the grant of 12,251,268 employee stock options under the Niva Bupa Employee Stock Option Plan 2024. The options are priced at ₹72.45 per unit, a rate determined by the weighted average price on the stock exchange during March 2026. These options come with a maximum exercise period of four years following the vesting date.
