This strategic alliance will create a dedicated facility for finished vehicle logistics. SAMRX will invest in the terminal, aiming for a handling capacity of ~200,000 cars annually. The terminal will offer value-added services like yard management and customs clearance.
RoRo Terminal Development
Samvardhana Motherson International through its joint venture, Samvardhana Motherson Hamakyorex Engineered Logistics Limited (SAMRX), announced a partnership with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) to establish a dedicated Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) terminal at Dighi Port in Maharashtra. The agreement was announced on December 5, 2025.
Strategic Partnership
The partnership aims to develop a state-of-the-art terminal to handle end-to-end finished vehicle (FV) logistics. SAMRX will invest in the terminal in a phased manner to vertically integrate its services, enabling an annual handling capacity of approximately 200,000 cars. The facility will offer a comprehensive logistics solution, including yard management, AI-based Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) technologies, and EV charging infrastructure.
Enhanced Logistics Capabilities
The new RoRo terminal at Dighi Port is poised to improve finished vehicle import and export logistics. It is strategically located on India’s west coast to streamline logistics for major automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The terminal also aims to offer a suite of value-added services.
