MCX Appoints Praveen DG as Chief Compliance Officer

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) has announced the appointment of Mr. Praveen DG as its new Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), effective August 06, 2026. He will also continue to hold interim charge of the Chief Risk Officer (CRiO) portfolio. This appointment is in line with SEBI regulations, and his profile highlights extensive experience in financial markets and risk management.

Praveen DG Takes Charge as Chief Compliance Officer

Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) has officially appointed Mr. Praveen DG as its Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). This significant appointment is effective from August 06, 2026. Mr. Praveen DG, who also holds the position of Chief Risk Officer (CRiO), will continue to manage the CRiO portfolio on an interim basis until a new incumbent is appointed. His designation as Chief Compliance Officer aligns with the company’s commitment to robust corporate governance and regulatory adherence.

Key Managerial Personnel Appointment

The appointment of Mr. Praveen DG as CCO is in accordance with Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015. He will be responsible for overseeing compliance with various securities laws and regulations, including the SCRA and the SEBI Act, 1992. Furthermore, he will manage Investor Services, Grievance Redressal, and Investor Protection. This role positions him as a key managerial personnel under the Securities Contracts (Regulations) (Stock Exchanges & Clearing Corporations) Regulation, 2018.

Background and Expertise

Mr. Praveen DG brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He has over 25 years of experience in enterprise risk management, financial market infrastructure, regulatory governance, and market development. Prior to this appointment, he served as the CRiO of MCX and held senior leadership positions at MCX Stock Exchange and ICFAI. His educational qualifications include an MBA, an MA in Economics, and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst, underscoring his strong financial and analytical acumen.

Interim CRiO Responsibilities

While assuming the critical role of Chief Compliance Officer, Mr. Praveen DG will also continue to manage the responsibilities of the Chief Risk Officer (CRiO) portfolio. This dual role will be in effect until a new executive is appointed to the CRiO position. The company has provided details regarding this appointment as required by SEBI Circular No. HO/49/14/14(7)2025-CFDPOD2/I/3762/2026, dated January 30, 2026, in Annexure I.
